Cross Campus Collab

Project Management | 15 Week Project | Spring 2023

The Ask

The business of art and design at Ringling College of Art and Design issues a yearly request for proposals (RFP) for students to create a project that adds “New Value” to life at Ringling.

The Process

Over fifteen weeks, we employed various project management methodologies and implemented our plan through a series of sprints. Each sprint started with a summary of what we have completed in the span of the sprint and ended with actionable steps moving forward for each team member.

The Situation

Ringling College is full of creatives and many student’s talents extend beyond the required skills for their major. Several students have drafted help-wanted posters or created discord groups to enlist other majors’ help in their projects, with little success.

We dubbed this “The Collaboration Problem.”

The Solution

After our research, we deduced that there was a collaboration problem at Ringling College and that the best solution would be to create a website that connects creatives and help them work on their respective projects together.

Project and Team Management

My role was project management, over fifteen weeks we created project documentation including a Statement of Work, a Project Charter, and a Project Management Plan to outline the scope and plan of the project. We conducted interviews and surveys with Ringling faculty, staff, and students to gather information on collaboration at Ringling. Based on our research, we created a wireframe for a mockup of a website as a solution to the collaboration problem at Ringling College of Art and Design.
